Looking back on the past year, what stands out the most is moving to our first house! As I went through the stressful buying process and moved my home office over to the new place, I was grateful for the ongoing work from steady clients.
More space and a permanent home meant I finally got a piano, leading to the last installment of my column on practicing piano without a piano. In other Grand Piano Passion™ news, we also launched a successful Tip of the Week newsletter, and I produced an audio version of a short story by Christi Craig.
Another exciting project was editing the independently published book, Book Design Made Simple, an impressive guide for anyone interested in self-publishing or designing any type of book. I found it on the shelf of Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan:
I added many new tools and skills to my web production/editing repertoire this year, including creating lightboxes with OptinMonster and working with layouts in Adobe InDesign. I am eager to keep on learning in 2016, and to get into more of a daily routine with my creative writing side projects.
Happy New Year, and best wishes for 2016!
